European Resource Hub seeks Market Development Manager
Do you know the Northern European waste and recycling market—and want to help build its next digital marketplace?
European Resource Hub AB is looking for an ambitious and commercially minded Market Development Manager with a background as an analyst in the Northern European waste, recycling and secondary raw materials market.
This is a unique opportunity to help develop a new European marketplace that connects buyers, sellers and logistics providers across national borders. You will play a key role in establishing Resource Hub in the market, building relationships with leading industry players and turning market intelligence into commercial growth.
The position will be based in Oslo or Stockholm.
About European Resource Hub
European Resource Hub AB is developing Resource Hub, a digital B2B marketplace for secondary raw materials, reusable equipment and related logistics services.
The platform is designed to make it easier and more secure for verified companies to buy and sell resources, equipment, find transport solutions and identify new business opportunities. By combining industry knowledge, artificial intelligence, standardisation and digital technology, our ambition is to contribute to increased reuse, recycling and circular resource flows across Europe.
We are now looking for someone to assist CEO who understands the market, knows its key players and can help turn Resource Hub into the preferred marketplace for the Northern European waste and recycling industry.
Your main responsibility
You will be responsible for developing Resource Hub’s market position and commercial network in Northern Europe.
Your role will combine market analysis, business development, communication and relationship-building. You will identify where the strongest market opportunities exist, engage potential users and partners, and help shape the platform in line with the industry’s actual needs.
Your responsibilities will include:
- analysing the waste, recycling and secondary raw materials markets in Northern Europe
- identifying relevant material streams, market segments and commercial opportunities
- mapping potential buyers, sellers, recycling companies, waste management companies and logistics providers
- establishing and developing relationships with leading industry players
- recruiting companies and organisations to the Resource Hub marketplace
- developing partnerships with industry associations, public-sector organisations and commercial operators
- translating market data and industry insight into commercial strategies and concrete activities
- supporting the development of market reports, newsletters, presentations and industry content
- representing Resource Hub at conferences, trade fairs and industry meetings
- working closely with management and the technology team on the continued development of the platform
- contributing to Resource Hub’s expansion into new European markets
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for someone with strong analytical skills, deep industry knowledge and the ability to build trusted commercial relationships.
You may currently work as a market analyst, business analyst, consultant, market intelligence specialist or business developer within the waste, recycling, circular economy or secondary raw materials sector.
You understand how the industry works—from waste collection and sorting to recycling, material trading, logistics and end markets. You are also able to identify commercial opportunities and communicate complex market information in a clear and convincing way.
We would particularly like you to have:
- experience as an analyst in the Northern European waste and recycling market
- strong knowledge of waste streams, secondary raw materials and recycling value chains
- a relevant professional network in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland or other Northern European markets
- experience in market analysis, business development or commercial strategy
- a solid understanding of the regulatory, economic and commercial drivers affecting the circular economy
- the ability to turn market intelligence into practical business opportunities
- excellent relationship-building and communication skills
- a proactive, independent and results-oriented approach
- professional fluency in English and at least one Scandinavian language
Experience from digital marketplaces, commodity trading, logistics, industry media, SaaS or international business development would be an advantage.
Why join European Resource Hub?
You will join the company at an important stage of its development, with considerable influence over both the role and the future direction of the marketplace.
We offer:
- a key position in a company with European ambitions
- the opportunity to combine industry analysis with commercial development
- considerable influence over strategy, partnerships and product development
- close cooperation with decision-makers across the waste and recycling industry
- an international working environment at the intersection of technology and the circular economy
- a high degree of freedom and responsibility
- flexible working arrangements
- competitive terms, including performance-based incentives and terms only a start-up may offer
- the opportunity to help create a more transparent and efficient market for secondary resources
